How Do I Get The String To Feed Out Automatically?

Make sure you have the correct type and size of string for your trimmer. The NST2118 uses 0.065-inch diameter line.
Turn off the trimmer and unplug it from the power source.
Remove any old string from the spool and wind new string onto the spool in the direction indicated by the arrow on the spool.
Make sure the spool is properly seated in the trimmer head and that the cap is securely tightened.
Turn on the trimmer and begin using it. As the line wears down, the automatic feed system will release more string as needed.
