You may have a clog in the lower hose area of the vacuum that is causing the dirt to be spit back out.

To check for a clog, first unplug your vacuum. Next, release the handle by stepping on the foot pedal twice to lay the handle completely to the floor. Separate the hoses and insert a broom handle into the lower hose to push any debris back into the brush area. You may want to remove the access plate and brush to provide a better view.

If you continue to experience suction issues, you may want to have your vacuum inspected by one of our Authorized Service Centers. Here's a quick link to assist you in locating one: http://www.bissell.com/service-centers/?cid=ccsocial
