Putting Filters Back In Place After Removing?

I have removed the filter in the canister but the problem with putting everything bck together. Took this apart a few weeks and not sure how to replace the bottom cardboard filter, dirt is blowing out when i start it and the manual has a foam filter, which is not my vacuum i am cleaning an office and didn't see any manuals. I do know its new, only a few months old and i frustrated with the directions on the back of canister to replace all of it, sitill not helpful
