Connect a PC directly to the wireless router with an ethernet cable. Open the Internet browser and type in the IP address of the router, which would be in the user manual. The default IP address is "http://192.168.2.1." Press "Enter."
Click the "Login" link at the top left of the page. The "Login" screen will open. Leave this password field blank and click "Submit."
Click "Security" in the "Wireless" section of the task pane on the left of the screen. In the "Security Mode" drop-down menu, select "64 Bit WEP."
Type a password or phrase into the "Passphrase" box and click "Generate." A numeric key will be generated.
Write down the numbers listed after "Key 1," as users will be required to enter them to access the wireless network. Click the "Apply Changes" button to save the new security settings
