Speaker Connections

There are two wires which run from the PCB to the Speaker terminals, red and black, and at the PCB end they go to a small plug that plugs into a socket on the PCB. The terminals on that socket are marked X2 and 2P. The plug only fits properly one way round but it seems to me that the speaker is pulling rather than pushing (possibly wrong polarity). Which terminal, X2 or 2P should be connected to the +ve terminal of the speaker?
