Bryan Redlich Has Been Denied Credit Based Upon A False Report

Bank of America reports an unpaid balance on a credit card that I do not own. It is my deceased mother's account, which has been written off as of June or July of 2010. I was only an approved signator, but not an owner of the credit card. How do I get this off my record?

You should first contact BOA and fax/show them proof of the charge-off, then request in writing that they contact the 3 credit bureaus to correct the error. You can also contact the credit bureaus, which will contact BOA to clear the error. Be sure you have proof available; they will ignore you if you don't.
