Wherever you do your local banking is where you should open the account. It's not clear if you're commuting to another state to go to school, but live in CA on a daily basis, or whether you're just temporarily living in another state to go to school.

I HAVE TO AGREE THAT IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA AND OPEN THE ACCOUNT THERE ARE MANY BANK OF AMERICA BRANCHES THAT YOU CAN DEPOSIT AND WITHDRAWAL FROM.
