I Got A Late Payment Ding Because No Statement Was Sent And Need It Removed

The late payment ding on my credit report is making it impossible to get good terms on a refinance to get rid of medical disability debt. Score is now 640 and was 730 and was almost 800 before debt built up. I have no other late payments
