Don't avoid taking their phone calls, and don't ignore letters. Call them and tell them you can make a payment to forestall foreclosure, then find a way to make that payment. Depending upon what state you live in, banks can foreclosed after ONE month of delinquency. Work with them, and get a housing counselor.
