I know this question is over a year old but just in case someone else is searching - look for a MiniDisplayport Adapter. Preferably MiniDisplayport to DVI-D but I imagine to VGA would work. I purchased this specific adapter from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006F8CPPE/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Be aware that the Acer A231H display's resolution is not as good as the native Macbook Pro's (albeit much larger).
