The standard change fee for most American Airlines tickets is $150.00.

There are some types of tickets that don't require a fee for change, but they are usually the higher priced tickets that are fully refundable, etc. The majority of tickets are nonrefundable or have penalties to change the ticket. In addition to the change fee, there can be additional fees if the flights you change to are more expensive than the original fare you purchased. Unfortunately it can get really expensive to change your ticket.

The only way you're going to find out the actual cost to change your ticket will be to call American Airlines and speak with a customer service agent. If you can provide your confirmation or flight details, they can access your reservation and help you find out the cost to change your ticket.
