The first time I used this machine I was really disturbed by the grinding agitator noise I heard.  The mfg refers to it as Long Stroke Slosh and actually has a sound bite to demonstrate it on their webpage.  It is exactly the sound I heard. Also, I checked with the Appliance Store where I purchased the unit and they told me while they had heard this comment several times it is considered a normal, albeit, different sound for this machine, per the manufacturer.  No need for concern.
