Remote Control Malfunctioning
Dear Sir,I have an AKAI music system model AC-999 VCD with remote control modelRC-S999. Date of purchase 8/2/2000 and still working. Only the remotecontrol is not working. I want a new one. How can I get it. I do not want to loose my Favorite Music System With Regards.SK MukherjeeKotaRajasthan.

Hi I was checking for any guidance related to this model which I bought around the same time ( 2000) for some reason it is not starting now though it was working fine few years back ( I was only using it as an input to play music from mobile ) since it has a great out put. Both Cassette player and VCD don't work now. System has never been opened. is there something which I can do myself, like a fuse or something. Or else can I use its speaker elsewhere if that's an option. Any help to utlise the system will be helpful.

For some reason remote control failures seem to be more common than failures of the systems they control. You can probably get a replacement from Akai [see the contact information here: https://www.contacthelp.com/akai/customer-service] but chances are it will be overpriced and may fail just like the first one. Instead I recommend one from Philips--pick one from Amazon at http://amzn.to/1TuaoLN--just make sure before purchase that it will work with your system, by calling Philips--see https://www.contacthelp.com/philips/customer-service.
