The industry recommendation is to set aside no more than 1-1.5 hours of income per week for your Aflac plan. I recommend that you figure out what the ideal amount for you would be for an Aflac plan. Once you (and with assistance from the agent, if necessary) decide on an amount that you are comfortable with, have the agent review your plans - products, levels, riders, etc. - to make sure you have a plan that is affordable and addresses your needs.
Most importantly, did you experience any major health incident during these past 12 months? If yes, this might affect your ability to make changes to an otherwise guarantee renewable plan.
