Usually the issue is temporary - sometimes it even resolves itself if you aren't watching the screen - and many times it comes just as the program you are watching is resolving all the issues or in the last 2 minutes of the game.  Frequently it occurs during marginal weather.

No matter.

Press the AT&T button in the upper left of your remote control. The light will flash red. Hold the power button in for between 5-10 seconds and see if that restores the signal.

If not, hold the power button on the receiver (the box) for 10 seconds. The lights on the receiver should flash or at least come on.  Allow some time for things to reset and you should have a signal.

If you don't have  a signal yet, check your local channels to see if there is a signal - often they will have a signal.  If the channel you were watching and the adjacent channels still have no signal, time to pick up the phone and call AT&T U-verse Technical Support.  1-800-288-2020.  You'll go through the automated switchboard and sometimes the diagnostics will be run right then.

The beauty of being able to speak to Tech Support is that on occasion they can tell you if the problem is in the signal and not your equipment. Usually even those problems are resolved by the time you get to speak to a person.
