Problems With Aarp & Optumrx Since I Signed Up In January 2014.

Betty 7/30/2014: 2:45PM Since I signed up with AARP MidicareRX Plan I've incurred problems almost every month. Most recent I ordered medication and the wrong onm med was mailed to me, through their mail order. Other OPTUMRx mistakes: not receiving my orders, and having to have them forward the prescription to a pharmacy near me. Since I was out of the medication, it was necessary to pick up late at night and pay more. Sopke to representations from OPTUMRx regarding several other issues, and when I contacted AARP to check into the problems, AARP was told I did not contact their company. Whick was not true. I found out they did not document many of my calls. As recent as today when I phonned AARP to discuss the matter, they called OPTUM, and were told I did not call and it was not documented. However, I had the name of the person and date and time I phoned. She did not list in the computer. This has occurred over and over. Hey promised to send a grievence letter to the main department. I had also sent a letter on July 22, regarding another issue, to this date I have not received a response. Neither company seems to care if the wrong drug is send to the consumer, or not send. I also phonned another time and they were about to send the wrong medication. These errors seem to occur over and over. Without any corrections. Betty Halperin

It seems you've already attempted unsuccessfully to resolve your grievance with this Medicare drug plan internally (with the drug plan). Your next step is to appeal outside that plan. One good resource is the Senior Medicare Patrol, at http://www.smpresource.org/. At that site you'll be able to find a phone number for your area.
