In front of the vehicle, pull up slightly. 2. CAUTION Before driving, be sure that the hood is securely caught by the support brackets before closing the tailgate. Otherwise, the hood may occur. 14 To open unexpectedly while driving and an accident may open the hood, do the following. 1. NOTICE Make sure the tailgate is securely closed and locked. Pull the hood lock release lever. '98 Tacoma (U) Hood To lower the tailgate fully, release the support brackets from the lugs as shown. The hood will spring up on the auxiliary catch lever and lift the hood.

Otherwise, the hood may occur. 14 To open unexpectedly while driving and an accident may open the hood, do the following. 1. NOTICE Make sure the tailgate is securely closed and locked. '98 Tacoma (U) -Headlights 1. If the connector is necessary, contact your Toyota dealer. 221 Make sure the rubber cover fits snugly on the boss. Install the rubber cover with the cutouts of the mounting hole. 3. When aiming .... Unplug the connector. Then insert the connector. Aiming is not necessary after replacing the bulb. Install a new bulb and the bulb retaining spring. Open the hood. Remove the rubber cover. Release the bulb retaining spring and remove the bulb.
