Remove it back in all the way. If you don't, theoil dipstick might not show the actual level. To Check Engine Oil Pull out the dipstick and clean with a paper towel it or cloth, then push it again, keeping the tip down, and check the level. 5.7L LT1 (Code P) Oil Dipstick Location 34 .L L 2 S) or 3 S (Code 3 .L L 6 K) (Code 3 5.7L LTl (Code P) T r off the engine and give the oil a few minutes un to drain back into the oil pan.

Then remove the cap again and look at theFULL COLD mark. Add enough fluidto bring thelevel up to the mark. 5.7 L LT1 Engine How To Check Power SteeringFluid When the engine compartmentis cool, unscrew the cap and wipe the dipstick with a clean rag. Replace the cap and completely tighten it.
