Lower Anchorages and Top Tethers for Children (LATCH System) If your vehicle is equipped with the LATCH System, it uses vehicle anchors (A, B) and child restraint attachments to secure a top tether strap (C). 1-44 Some restraints also use the vehicle's safety belts. Instead, it is available in the second row outboard seating positions. This system, designed to make installation of child restraints easier, does not use another vehicle anchor to secure the restraints.
