How to turn off demo mode ("try-me mode") from the user manual:

"This product is in Try-Me mode in the packaging. To enter normal play mode, first switch on the unit. Then, press and hold the Restart Button for a few seconds to proceed with normal play. If the unit powers down or if the light fades out during play, please install a new set of batteries."
